Visions of Eden Collection

It is widely acknowledged that unchecked consumerism is having a devastating impact on individuals and communities; its effect on the environment is catastrophic. Vast storage warehouses and fleets of delivery trucks are evidence that we live in a culture of insatiable materialism. In this body of work, I highlight the direct relationship between consumerism and environmental destruction. The images depict idealised natural beauty, evoking and reimagining traditional notions of the Garden of Eden. Juxtaposing these with titles that reference a popular, ubiquitous online shopping corporation, challenges the viewer to reflect on their own habits of consumption.
